Papaya is an important crop in Mexico. However, one of its limitations is the poor quality of the soil, which leads to the use of chemical fertilizers that damage the environment. Because of this, alternatives such as the rhizobacterium Azospirillum brasilense are being sought. Therefore, the effect of this bacterium on papaya cultivation was studied. It was found that the application of A. brasilense increased the germination rate by 88.89%. It is concluded that the application of Azospirillum brasilense is a good alternative for improving papaya productivity.
