Abstract

Yellow corn is of great importance in México since it is used to a large extent for livestock feeding, however, its production is minimal in the country, therefore, most of the yellow corn grain that is used for food from the livestock sector is imported from other countries. Due to the dependence on this type of corn, the area allocated for its cultivation is minimal, as well as the existence of national seeds. The variety of maize with yellow grain called V-569 A was released to trade at the National Institute of Forestry, Agriculture and Livestock Research. This variety is characterized by having a plant size of 265 to 275 cm, an average biological cycle of 125 days, cylindrical conical ear with a carrot-yellow grain color and a semi-crystalline texture, with a grain yield of 4.5 to 6.5 tons per hectare.
